According to a March 6 article on National Underwriter’s Web site,1 Life Insurance Foundation for Education (LIFE)2 is gearing up for a disability insurance education campaign in May.
The article states that LIFE, a nonprofit group that educates consumers about the need for life insurance and related products, is hoping to get individual insurers to work together to coordinate a mass campaign. The advertising campaign will inform the public about the need and importance of disability insurance.
For several years, LIFE has held a life insurance month program, but it added a disability insurance awareness month program just last year. Supporters say the campaigns are helpful, not only to the public they are educating, but also for business.
This year’s disability month will use the slogan, “Carpe DIAM,” and will feature April Holmes, the world’s fastest female amputee, states the article.
